Today, I had the privilege of spending time in Alford, a town filled with community spirit and inspiring people. I met with some of the fantastic volunteers at Alford Hub, who exemplify the power of local action.
Alford Hub is entirely volunteer-led, and its members are making a tangible difference in people’s lives. This team does everything from running a clothes bank and school uniform recycling program to providing advice on energy bills and offering training to build essential skills. Their dedication to supporting those most in need is extraordinary.
One story that stood out was their efforts to help families manage rising living costs, especially during tough times. Their hands-on support shows what can be achieved when people come together for the good of the community.
Spending time here reminded me of the strength and resilience of Lincolnshire’s people. The volunteers’ passion and care for others are the heart of what makes Alford such a special place.
Thank you to everyone at Alford Hub for sharing your stories and your time.
I left feeling inspired and even more committed to championing initiatives that help our communities thrive.
